OTO JESTEM

MAJA FRYKOWSKA
Actress. Director. Producer. Founder of the Here I Am Foundation.

For over twenty years I have been connected to the world of media, film, and art. I am a graduate of the Leon Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. Over time, my career also led me toward production, directing, and working behind the scenes of a world that has always been close to my heart.

Film is part of my heritage.

I come from a family in which art and cinema were more than a profession. My grandfather, Wojciech Frykowski, was one of the first private film producers in Poland and a man closely tied to the artistic world. He co-produced Roman Polański's film "Knife in the Water." I grew up in the shadow of a story that forever tied my name to Polish cinema.

Over the years I came to understand that the most important film of my life is not made on set. It is made within me. In my choices. In my falls. In the moments when I had to start everything over.

The stage taught me to see people from many perspectives. Life taught me to look deeper.

I have lived through situations that tested my strength, my self-worth, and my belief in myself. I was judged, criticised, and put under pressure. I went through moments in which I had to redefine myself and answer the most important question: Who am I when I strip away all the labels that others have given me?

That path changed the way I see people.

Today I know that behind confidence there is often fear. Behind a smile — loneliness. Behind success — a story no one knows. And behind someone who looks strong, there is sometimes a person who has simply been trying to survive for a very long time.

That is why the Here I Am Foundation was created.

HERE I AM - I AM HERE. I SEE YOU. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

The Here I Am Foundation was created out of a need to build a place where a person is not defined by their crisis, their past, their mistakes, their social status, or other people's opinions.

We want to support women, children, young people, families, and married couples who find themselves going through a difficult time in life.

We want to pay special attention to those who often remain invisible – people lacking a sense of self-worth, young people searching for their place, women trying to rebuild their lives, and families who need support before a crisis becomes a tragedy.

We also want to create space for young artists and creators – people with talent, sensitivity, and dreams, who don't always have access to the opportunities that would let them grow.

Because a person, just like art, sometimes needs only one thing – someone who believes in them. We don't want to change people. We want to help them find themselves.

I believe that real help does not mean living someone else's life for them. It means, in their most difficult moment, offering a hand, restoring hope, and helping them regain their sense of agency.

That is why we want to create educational programmes, social initiatives, events, artistic projects, and spaces where people can gain knowledge, support, and the feeling that they are not alone.

We want to combine our experience in the world of art and media with real social support. Because I believe that sensitivity can be a strength, and experience a tool for helping others.

MY STORY IS NOT THE DESTINATION.
IT IS THE BEGINNING.

For years, life wrote my story for me. Today I write it consciously. And I want its next chapters to no longer be only about me.

I want them to be about the people who managed to rise again. About women who reclaimed their strength. About children who believed again that they matter. About families who got a chance to talk before it was too late. About young creators who, for the first time, heard: "You have talent. Show it to the world."

Because sometimes one conversation can change someone's life. One person can restore someone's belief in themselves. One chance can open every door.

And that is exactly what I am here for.

HERE I AM.
